Finally got around to troubleshooting the excessive play in my GF1800 mower steering box. Had some other issues as well but the bearings were really destroyed.
A quick online order and new bearing and seals were in my hands, delivered two days later. Perfect fit, quick delivery, and reasonably priced - can't ask for any more than that.
